You can complete our MBO Level 4 programmes in Spatial Design and Media Design in three years instead of four. In terms of content, the programme is the same as the four-year variant. The difference is that the pace of the three-year variant is faster than the four-year variant. The acceleration occurs mainly during the first year. For example, in the Spatial Design programme, you are more likely to choose one of the four specialisation directions: Event, Product, Interior or Styling. The duration of assignments is also shorter.
Study structure Media design
Year 1
During the first year, you attend classes at school, alternating with various projects.
Academic year 2
In the first half of the second year, you return to school with group projects, optional subjects and your own ambition areas. During the second half of the second year, you will go on a work placement at a company of your choice.
Learning year 3
The third year has a similar set-up, with the internship at the end being a performance internship as part of your graduation.

Year 1
During the first year, you attend classes at school, alternating with various projects.
Academic year 2
During the first half of the second year, you go on (learning) placement at a company of your choice, the second half of the second year you again follow lessons at school alternating with various projects. (you enter year 3)
Year 3
You will follow the same route as the regular Spatial Design variant.
Admission requirements
If you are taking your final exams this year in havo/vwo, mbo level-4 or if you already have your diploma, you are eligible for the abridged programme. The abridged programme is a three-year programme for the Spatial Design and Media Design programmes. The regular duration of this MBO level 4 programme is four years.
Exemptions
With a havo and vwo diploma and MBO level 4 diploma, you can apply to the SintLucas examination committee for an exemption for the subjects Dutch and English. If you meet the conditions, the exemption for the exams will be granted. The examination committee assesses this per individual situation. For arithmetic, you need level 3F. If you have not yet attained this level in your previous education, you will need to sit exams for it.
